Golf Buddy Pro GPS Review

One of the more popular choices among golfers the Golf Buddy Pro GPS has many features that make it stand out from the rest of the market. It was originally designed as a system for real pro caddies so it offers greater yardage accuracy all wrapped in a nice aesthetic package. So it is no surprise that it is quite a popular choice among Golfers.

A large screen dominates the interface of this unit and although only in black and white it is a high resolution display which gives a clear and crisp readout with good visibility in all lighting conditions. The simple control system makes it easy to operate and get the information displayed that you need quickly.

Golf Buddy Pro GPS is the only one on the market at the time of writing that is delivered with all 20,000 currently available US golf courses already installed. Giving it the ability to tell you where you are, just in case you ever forget! It automatically updates to the course and hole you are currently playing. This alone can save you the time of changing course information in between rounds and the hassle of forgetting to load a course’s data before you play a new course.

No annual fees: this is one of the few golf GPS systems that does not tie you in to a annual contract, which in itself potentially would save you a considerable amount of money.

On top of all the above the Golf Buddy Pro GPS gives the user the ability to add up to 11 hazards per hole and store the information for later use. It will calculate your driving distance and change the shape of the green to compensate for you approach angle.

With its Li-Polymer rechargeable battery with AAA backup it is never going to run out of charge at that crucial point while on the course.

All in all it proves to be a feature loaded competitor to the other top models in the market place.

While researching this Golf Buddy Pro GPS review we found a mixed bunch of comments from users of the Golf Buddy Pro GPS. Most gripes appear to come from the units lack of accuracy which is ironic since Golf Buddy designed this to be a pro’s GPS and made accuracy a key selling point. Perhaps they set expectations too high.

Another downside with the Golf Buddy Pro is that it lacks any kind of storage features: for your shots, score or round information, which for a unit of this price is a little surprising.
